Care Instructions & Warranty

Here are some tips for caring for your new surface:

  • Do not walk on the surface area for at least 18 hours (24 hrs. is preferable)
  • Please do not drive on your new driveway or place outdoor furniture for 72 hours (shorter curing time if it rains) Special caution for heavy chairs with pointed legs as they will leave an indent in the rubber if it has not properly cured.
  • Keep pets away from the area (cats are more difficult to keep away, but see if you can keep the area clear of animals for the first 24 hrs.)
  • Keep caution tape and stakes up around your new area for the full 24 hours (make alternate arrangements for mail delivery for the first day).
  • If you have a catwalk set up, make sure it does not touch the new surface.
  • Cleaning your new driveway is easy. Leaves and debris can be removed leaf blower or washed away with a light hose spray.  It can also be pressure washed on the wider setting.  The rubber surface loves water, so the more you wash it, the better it looks.
  • For the first week or two you will notice a white foam when you hose down your surface, this is normal. It will rinse clear after a while.  The more you rinse it, the quicker the excess binder is washed away.
  • Oil or gas leaks can be washed with a mild soapy water solution and then rinsed away with a hose.  Please be careful with gas.  Rinse any chemicals off the surface as soon as possible.
  • If you have light coloured fleck, it may initially turn yellow from the binder, but it will turn to its true colour.  (Rain and a garden hose/pressure washer help it along!)
  • Accidental spillage of weed killer on your driveway will discolour the rubber so use caution when spraying your lawn.
  • With a rubber driveway, you cannot turn your vehicle when stationary.  Please ensure the car is moving when you turn the wheel.
