When can you install my driveway?
We start installation season as soon as the day time temperature is above 12 degrees and overnight temps don't below 8 degrees. So fingers crossed, we have a dry spring and we can install soon. We continue to install until late October. We cannot install in the rain. Conditions must be dry before we install. Rain is welcome after the driveway is installed as it helps speed up the curing process! (our binder system is moisture cured)
How do you remove snow and ice in the winter?
Remove as you normally would with a plastic snow blade or shovel that does
not have a metal edge. You can also use a snow blower as they usually have pads
on the bottom. You can apply salt to your driveway as it will not harm the
rubber. The rubber surface also provides a superior surface grip to prevent
slips and falls.
How do I keep the driveway looking clean?
We recommend a garden hose or a light pressure wash but do not use a fine
point nozzle spray pattern. For stubborn stains, you can use mild cleaners like
dish washing detergent and/or foamy tire cleaner.
If my driveway gets damaged, can it be repaired?
Any accidental rips, tears or damage caused by sharp objects or difficult
and unsightly stains can be repaired by cutting out the damaged area and
reapplying new rubber. Green Tech Resurfacing will repair any damage due to a defect in
the product.
How long does it take to install a driveway?
An average driveway can be completed in one day. The area has to be prepared the day before and
weather conditions have to be met before we install. Larger driveways or large pool decks may take 2 days.
What happens when it rains on the day of installation?
We cannot install rubber paving on a wet surface as it will not adhere and cure properly.
We will reschedule your driveway as soon as possible. However, if it starts to rain immediately after installation, curing of the rubber is accelerated so that is a good thing!
What preparations need to be done before installation?
The driveway and and path surfaces must be pressure washed and all debris and dirt must be cleaned from the area to ensure the best results.
Is it toxic?
Rubber is placed on already existing concrete or asphalt so there is a barrier in place between the rubber and the soil. We do not install rubber over mulch or dirt or any other soft surfaces for this reason.
What colours can I choose from?
We offer black with coloured flecks to look like aggregate (black with white or grey fleck) or we offer solid colours (black, grey, brown or terracotta). We offer custom colours (extra charge for colour match/ mixing).
Keep in mind that the lighter the colour, the easier marks show up from tires. The darker colours are preferred for the driveways. The lighter colours look nice on patios paths and pool decks.
